Tower-9, Week 15 Progress Report for 9-2-16
By Deputy Fire Chief Steve Stockwell
September 2, 2016
This is the Progress Report for Tower-9 for the beginning of September. As you can see the truck is starting to come together as the hydraulic stabilization jacks are installed 2-front, 2-middle and 2-rear. This particular truck will have a weight capacity at 0 degrees of 950-1000lbs with the capability of flowing water which although an older aerial device has some benefits over the current Tower-9 which is impacted (weight wise) by flowing water. The body is back, painted and now installation back on to the truck. The Aerial is next and should be installed when we are out in Wisconsin next week. The truck as it moves along will start increasing in speed so stay tuned.
Units:
Tower-9
Mutual Aid:
Pierce
Outriggers installed both front and rear. These help stabilze the truck when the aerial boom or bucket is in operation.
The middle jacks or Tormentors again, stabilze the truck and in short prevent the truck from tipping over.
The turntable refreshed, painted and new waterway installed.
