By Bay District Volunteers
April 9, 2016

At around 10 minutes before noon Companies 7,1,9,3,5 were all alerted for the working fire in Hollywood. Units were quick to respond following the dispatch and Captain 13 reported heavy fire conditions from civilians near the house.

Captain 7 requested a 2nd alarm for the call after a phone call with the neighbors of the house reporting a large house well involved. Dispatch quickly sounded for the additional companies. Safety 7 arrived on scene with a large house with fire on both the 1st and 2nd floors. Safety 7 reported everyone was accounted for and out of the house. Captain 7 arrived and established command.

As the first units arrived they went straight to ladder pipe operations with Truck 7. Solomon's Boat 3, Water Supply 5 both set up draft from the creek behind the house. The other crews from the responding units assisted with setting up large attack lines around the house to attack the fire. Once the main fire was out crews made entry where possible to conduct overhaul and hit all the hot spots.

Crews were on scene for about almost 4 hours.

Engine 44 filled in at Company 3 where they assisted Truck 3 on a Gas leak at Company 39's quarters.
