At around 0730 hrs units were dispatched for a serious motor vehicle accident reported head on with one trapped at St. Andrews Church Rd and Wildewood Parkway. All units responded shortly after dispatch and while responding Communications advised due to the calls coming into to the 911 center Trooper 7 was being placed on standby at the County airport for possible air transportation to a trauma center.

Lieutenant 9 (Martoni) was the first to arrive on the scene and confirmed a two-vehicle collision with a single patient who is confirmed trapped in one of the vehicles. Chief 3 (Gould) arrived shortly after and established command. Engine 91 arrived on scene and began vehicle stabilization and started the initial extrication. Squad 3 was next arriving and assumed extrication on the driver’s side of the vehicle while Squad 7 arrived and began extrication on the passenger side of the vehicle. Through combined efforts, the patient was extricated from the vehicle within 10 minutes and turned over to the awaiting EMS crew.

The patient was transported by Ambulance 389 to the airport and flown to the trauma center by MSP Trooper 7. Units wrapped up and cleared the scene shortly after.
