On May 20, 2015 it was time for us to return a favor to our friends from the Sanner’s Lake Sportsman Club and burn down a trailer on their property that the floor had rotted away and was no longer usable. Now, I know everyone has heard me talk about our pump testing at the lake which this club lets us use all the time.

Now this is just the start of the story because after we got all the hose laid out from the drafting site to the location of the trailer (800’ of 3 inch) we knew we were going to just light the trailer off and protect the surrounding area. Didn’t expect to get any spectators as this is a rather isolated area of the club. So the guys stripped down from most of their turnout gear as it was a hot evening and proceeded to throw some flares in the trailer to light it off.

I looked around while sitting on a nice bench that the guys had found me when I noticed this young man sitting in a wheelchair watching the whole operation with great interest. I looked at him and thought I recognized him from somewhere and when I looked at his mother then I realized that this was the son of a former member of the department. His name was Mark Snyder and he was now a young man of 41. Never knew that he was a fire buff and had been following us his entire life through our website always wanting to come by but for some reason he never did. Talking to his mother this is a young man who for Christmas got a real fire hydrant and was thrilled to death.

Now while watching the burn I noticed the guys watching Mark sitting in his wheelchair and saw them go over to him and see if he wanted to get a little closer to the fire. Well his eyes lit up and he said sure so they took him over and then let him hold the hose line and put some water on the fire. Man this made his day and you could look at the smile on his face and see just how happy he was. I was kind of amazed how our guys just kind of stepped up and welcomed him into the operation. As you will see in the pictures that we took he had a good time and during the process we did a service to some special people at the club. So hope all enjoy the pictures that my photographer took for me. I put a lot of them on here for all that were there to enjoy and maybe you out there will enjoy them to. I know one special fellow will enjoy them and that is Mark Snyder.

Now you will notice that a lot of the pictures have no comments cause I didn't know what to say. Simple enough.
