By Public Information Officer Douglas Medley
March 2, 2015

March 2, 2015 Deputy Chief 3 Steve Stockwell had a drill planned to familiarize the firefighters on the new squad and engine 32 so they could be put in service. The representive from Pierce, Roger Ward, was on hand to go over everything on the new squad. We knew the guys were anious to get it in service so there was a good turn-out for the drill. After the drill they also did extrication work on a car out back to make sure all the tools were working properly.

After the drills the chief officers made the decision to place it in service with the county. Well it didn’t take long as you all well know for the squad to get it’s first call which was for a vehicle accident with entrapment over in the valley (Co 6) and it was due as the second squad and was placed in service before arriving on the scene. Driving the new squad on its first call was our President Wayne Johnson.

So it seems that everyone is happy with it and the engine goes without saying. It has had plenty of runs to break the new drivers in on it. The squad had to have at least 10 people checked out on it before the officers would let it go out on calls. Didn’t take long for guys to step-up and get it done.

Now there are plenty of pictures of each unit but with all the guys and gals it would be to hard to name each person so I will just let you look and see who you recognize.

I’m sure Deputy Chief 3 Stockwell will be on here to give the real facts on it along with engine 32. Great big kudo’s to Steve and his committee for another great job of getting a couple of fine pieces for us that will serve us for years to come.

Units: New Squad 3 New Engine 32
