Building Fire in the 9-02 Box

Saturday March 23 at 0841, Companies 9,7,3,83,38, and 79 were dispatched for the commercial building fire in the area of Wildewood Parkway and Smoke Hill Road. Chief 3A (Wahrenbrock) arrived on the scene at 44111 Smoke Hill Road with a single story commercial building smoke showing from the eves. Chief 3A requested an extra Engine and Squad for R.I.T. Engine 72 arrived on the scene and dropped a split from Cottonwood Parkway and Smoke Hill Road, Engine 91 completed the split lay. Engine 32 arrived on the scene and picked up a secondary water source. After a walk around was compete it was determined that the bulk of the fire was on the "B" side. Chief 7A (Insley) had Interior and advised it was a large commercial open space with rack shelving. Engine 834 and Truck 1 were assigned R.I.T. Crews made entry into the structure and extinguished the fire. Primary and secondary searches proved negative. Units operated on the scene for 2 hours. Chief 3A held the command, Chief 7A held interior, and Chief 7B had the vent Group.
