At 04:19 hrs on 07/08/12 Companies 3, 13, 9 and 4 were alerted to the house fire at 48385 Surfside Drive in Hermanville. Engine 32 and Truck 3 responded instantly as they were returning from a run they had just cleared. 32 arrived on scene along with Truck 3 advising communications of a 3 story middle of the row townhome with nothing evident. Engine 32's crew advanced the 200' ft 1 ¾" Handline through the residence finding the rear deck on fire. Truck 3 laddered the building and took care of utilities. Chief 3 arrived on location and assumed the "Surfside Command". Engine 132 was second due wagon and with the assistance of truck 3 forced entry into the bravo exposure to check for extension. Checks were negative on exposures. Squad 3's crew arrived on location and completed a search of the town home. Engine 32 encountered minor fire with no extension to the building. Units were on scene for little over 30 minutes before clearing and returning to service.
