At 2216 the rescue box was sounded at the intersection of Three Notch Rd and First Colony Blvd. E-92 and C-3A responded within seconds of dispatch. C-3A arrived on the scene advising 2 vehicles with possible entrapment. After conducting at scene size up it was determined that a helicopter was needed for a Category A priority 1 trauma patient and 2 people trapped. E-92 arrived on scene seconds later and pulled the trash line for protection during extrication also stabilized the vehicle. Once complete, E-92 started working on the driver side door. Once the door was removed and after a patient assessment the driver was pulled from the vehicle. The ambulance crew conducted a patient assessment on the passenger and advised another helicopter was needed for a category B priority 2 trauma patient. E-91 handled the landing zone on Three Notch Rd. A total of 3 patients were flown out, the next morning the department learned the driver of the vehicle succumbed to his injuries.
